Best Beaches in Missouri

The only way to get a good beach day is to have a great beach. Luckily, there are so many great beaches across the state of Missouri. Finding a great beach is not difficult as Missouri has plenty of them along lakes, rivers and reservoirs. Even though Missouri is a landlocked state, there are still beaches that you can enjoy throughout the summer months. Whether you’re looking for lakefront or riverfront, Missouri has it.

The lakes and rivers of Missouri offer some of the most scenic natural beauty in the Midwest. Many of which offer beaches, which can be found anywhere from Missouri’s small towns to the major cities of St. Louis and Kansas City. Every beach has a unique personality that makes it worth a visit.

Harry S Truman State Beach

This state park is a great place for family fun if you live in the Kansas City area, and the area has several beaches that make it a great destination. Check out the Public Beach at Truman State Park, Thorny Ridge Campground, and Shawnee Bend Recreation Area Beach.

Fugitive Beach

Is a family-friendly water park that has swimming, slides, and a kiddie area.  It has 2.5 million gallons of water, which move continuously through the park’s pipes. They offer the use of their beach chairs, sunscreen, and inner tubes for free rental. Fugitive Beach also offers an arcade with over 60 games including family favorites like skee-ball and basketball hoops, as well as classics like pinballs and racing games. It also has a snack bar that serves popcorn, soft pretzels, and ice cream novelties.

Coffman Beach Access

Located along the Lake of the Ozarks,  Coffman Beach Access is a large, popular tourist destination. The area is located in the Ha Ha Tonka State Park just off of Route N about six miles north of Camdenton on Highway 5. Coffman Beach was once known as ‘Shanty Town.’ This town was built by fisherman and construction crews who were working on building the new Lake of the Ozarks.

Long Branch Beach

Long Branch Beach in Missouri is a great place for people who enjoy fishing, swimming, or relaxing. The beach stretches for 3 miles and has picnic tables overlooking the water. This beach is perfect for families with small children who are looking to spend their day at the beach.
