Best Beaches in Idaho

Idaho, the Gem State, is a beautiful place with lots of amazing beaches. The best Idaho beaches have something for everyone including secluded coves and sandy shores to wide expanses of water for fishing or just hanging out.

The following is a list of some of the best public beaches that can be found across the state of Idaho.

Sandy Point Beach

The cool water of Sandy Point Beach is an ideal place to spend a summer day. Bring your family and dog for some fishing, swimming or just lounging on the sand with friends! Nearby the beach you will find boat ramps, ample parking spaces available near hour service marina rental boats and merchandise store too!

North Beach at Bear Lake

The Bear Lake North Beach is a mile long and located at the southeastern corner of Idaho near the Cache Mountains. It’s one of the top destinations for water lovers, welcoming about 15,000 campers annually. Known as a popular spot among tourists due to its intense turquoise colored waters that resemble waters found along Caribbean coastlines! A gradual slope down towards lake floor provides visitors ample room during summer months where they can swim leisurely across this 20-mile long stretch without having any worries whatsoever since lifeguards are present during opening hours.

Honeysuckle Beach

Honeysuckle Beach is a beautiful, family friendly public beach in the City of Hayden. The beach has lifeguards that are certified under USLA guidelines with from June through August. The swimming area has nice roped off areas for kids and another where it’s deeper so that adults can enjoy diving off their dock too! There are also shaded picnic tables nearby. Dogs are not allowed at this beach.

Sanders Beach

Located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Harrison Slough, this is a great small local beach that is open to the public. Boats are active on Harrison Slough, but the boat wake isn’t too bad because you’re tucked in by the marina and hidden from boat traffic. The tucked away trees allow some shade which makes it more enjoyable during summer days. If you enjoy going in the morning, you can have the beach all to yourself!

Preston Beach

Preston Beach in Kootenai County, Idaho is located just 5.1 miles from Hayden, Idaho near Harris Landing. The beach is fairly small along Lake Hayden and has a several piers going into the water. The surrounding hills and beautiful scenery make this a great destination for those who are visiting Hayden.
